Who We Are

Who are we? Well, to an extent we are still trying to figure that one out. We know we belong to God. We know we are the church, the community of believers. But we are also just ordinary people with real problems who are just trying to help one another glorify God the best we can. We don't have all the answers and Lord knows we struggle, but we are sharing in each other's lives and trying to give grace and love to the the helpless and broken. Sometimes, things go great and we are amazed by how God is working in us and through us to make a difference in the lives of people around us. Sometimes, though, we fail, often by tripping over our own two feet and we have to help one another up, knock the dust off, shed a tear and give a hug and then continue on. Church is a messy business because it involves messy people living messy lives. Who are we? Well, we are people just like you, but there are some things we are committed to, some things we believe with all of our heart:

We believe that God is real and that we don't have to go through life stumbling in the dark because he is giving us his light.

We believe that Jesus is Lord, the rightful King and Master of all and that we should make him the Master and King and Lord of our lives.

We believe that Jesus came and died and rose again, conquering sin and death and shattering the power that they hold over us.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is at work, both in and around us, helping us to become more like Christ.

We believe in an eternity that it is a whole lot more important than the few short days we live right now.

We believe that the church is a family committed to one another, looking out for each other as the body of Christ, following him and serving him, despite our shortcomings.

If you want more answers than that, then I hope you stop by and see us so that we can ask questions together. We don't have all the answers, we just believe in and worship the God who does.
